Service Agreement

Effective May 1, 2026. Plain language. No surprises.

1. Overview

This Service Agreement ("Agreement") governs the protection plans and repair services provided by KBS Coverage ("KBS", "we", "us"). By enrolling a device, purchasing a plan, or filing a claim, you agree to the terms below.

KBS Coverage is a device protection program for K-12 schools, districts, and the families they serve. Coverage is administered by KBS Coverage LLC.

2. Eligible devices

Coverage applies to the specific device enrolled under your account, identified by serial number. Tablets, Chromebooks, laptops, and similar student devices are eligible. Phones, desktops, and accessories are not covered unless explicitly listed on your plan.

Devices must be in working condition at enrollment. Pre-existing damage is not covered.

3. Term and renewal

Parent plans run for the school year unless otherwise stated. School and district plans run for the term defined on the invoice. Renewal is not automatic and requires a new enrollment for the following term.

4. What is covered

Subject to the limits in your plan, KBS covers:

  • Cracked or shattered screens
  • Liquid damage
  • Charging port and battery failures from normal use
  • Hinge, case, and keyboard damage
  • Camera failures
  • Software issues that prevent normal use

5. What is not covered

  • Loss or theft (unless your plan explicitly includes it)
  • Intentional damage or gross negligence
  • Cosmetic wear that does not affect function
  • Damage from unauthorized repairs or modifications
  • Consumable accessories (chargers, cases, styluses) unless listed

6. Filing a claim

Claims can be filed through your KBS dashboard or, where the school manages claims directly, through the school's process. A short description of what happened is required. KBS may request additional details before approving service.

Most claims receive an initial response within one business day. Repair turnaround depends on parts availability and is communicated in your claim status.

7. Deductibles and limits

Deductibles, claim limits, and per-incident caps are shown on your specific plan at the time of enrollment. Repeated claims may be subject to review.

8. Your responsibilities

  • Keep enrollment and contact information current.
  • Report damage promptly, ideally within 14 days.
  • Back up your data before sending a device for repair.
  • Cooperate with reasonable requests for information or device inspection.

9. Data and privacy

KBS handles personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Student data shared by schools is used only to administer coverage and is never sold.

10. Cancellation and refunds

Plans may be cancelled within 30 days of purchase for a full refund if no claims have been filed. After 30 days, refunds are prorated at KBS's discretion. Cancellations after a claim has been approved are not eligible for a refund.

11. Limitation of liability

KBS's total liability for any claim is limited to the cost of repair or replacement of the covered device. KBS is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data or lost productivity.

12. Changes to this agreement

KBS may update this Agreement from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled accounts. Continued use of coverage after an update constitutes acceptance.
